PTFE Sealing Belts

PTFE Sealing Belts for Band Sealer Machine

The PTFE belt for a band sealer machine is well-suited for continuous bag sealing in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries. As the plastic film conveys through the sealer, heat is transferred through the belt’s surface to effectively seal the material. This band sealer belt is crafted from PTFE-coated glass cloth in narrow widths, connected at both ends to form an endless loop. The PTFE coating imparts a non-stick and high-temperature resistant surface, preventing molten plastic films from accumulating on the belt.

The size of the PTFE sealing belt can be customized, with typical widths of 3/4″ or 1 inch and lengths ranging from 20 to 150 inches.

There are two main types of PTFE band sealing machine belts: belts with joints and seamless belts.

The belt with a joint employs PTFE-coated fiberglass fabric, with a thickness of 0.13mm or 0.25mm. The two ends overlap and are heat-sealed, with a 25mm overlap length. While cost-effective and easy to produce, this type of belt is double-thick at the joint, traces may appear during use.

The seamless PTFE belt for the band sealer machine, also known as a two-ply PTFE belt, utilizes two layers of PTFE fabric, each with a thickness of 0.08mm or 0.13mm. These layers are laminated together with staggered splices, ensuring a smooth, continuous thickness along the entire belt length. This design guarantees a uniform seal in packaging and heat-sealing applications.

Key Applications:

PTFE sealing belts find various applications, especially in industries where continuous bag sealing is required. Here are some common applications of PTFE sealing belts in band sealer machines:

  • Food Industry: PTFE sealing belts are widely used in the food industry for sealing bags containing various food products. The non-stick surface of the PTFE coating prevents food particles from sticking to the belt during the sealing process.
  • Pharmaceutical Industry: In pharmaceutical manufacturing, PTFE belts are employed for sealing bags or pouches containing pharmaceutical products. The high-temperature resistance of PTFE ensures effective sealing without compromising the integrity of the contents.
  • Chemical Industry: PTFE sealing belts are suitable for sealing bags containing chemical products. The chemical resistance of PTFE makes it a reliable choice for applications where exposure to different chemicals is a concern.
  • Packaging Industry: PTFE belts are commonly used in packaging applications where continuous and efficient sealing of plastic films is necessary. The uniform seal provided by PTFE belts ensures the integrity of the packaged items.
  • Heat-sealing Applications: PTFE sealing belts are designed to transfer heat effectively during the sealing process. This makes them suitable for various heat-sealing applications across different industries.
  • Customized Packaging: The customizable size options of PTFE sealing belts, with widths ranging from 3/4″ to 1 inch and lengths from 20 to 150 inches, allow for tailored solutions to meet specific packaging requirements.
  • Seamless Belt Applications: Seamless PTFE belts, with their smooth and continuous surface, are particularly advantageous in applications where a uniform seal is crucial, such as in packaging sensitive materials.

Key Features:

PTFE sealing belts come with several features that make them well-suited for various industrial applications, particularly in band sealer machines. Here are some key features of PTFE sealing belts:

  • Non-Stick Surface: The PTFE coating on the belts provides a non-stick surface. This feature prevents molten plastic films or other materials from sticking to the belt during the sealing process, ensuring smooth and efficient operation.
  • High-Temperature Resistance: PTFE is known for its high-temperature resistance. This characteristic allows PTFE sealing belts to withstand the heat generated during the sealing process without losing their integrity or performance.
  • Chemical Resistance: PTFE is chemically inert, making the belts resistant to various chemicals. This is particularly beneficial in applications where the sealing process involves exposure to different types of chemicals.
  • Customizable Size: The size of PTFE sealing belts can be customized to fit specific requirements. Typical widths range from 3/4″ to 1 inch, and lengths can be tailored to varying dimensions, providing flexibility for different packaging needs.
  • Seamless Design: Some PTFE sealing belts come in a seamless design, often referred to as two-ply PTFE belts. This design, with staggered splices, ensures a smooth and continuous thickness along the entire belt length, contributing to a uniform seal.
  • Uniform Seal: The design and features of PTFE sealing belts contribute to achieving a uniform seal in packaging and heat-sealing applications. This uniformity is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the sealed packages.
